Why Does Kmeris Produce Ultra Fine Rutile Micro Titanium Dioxide for Metallic Coatings?

Back in 2021, automotive coating leaders in Eastern Europe, such as Alxata and PPG (now acquired by a local manufacturer and operating under a new name), faced a growing challenge. They needed ultra-fine rutile micro titanium dioxide for their high-performance metallic coatings. However, the market was dominated by only a few Japanese and European suppliers.

The main suppliers of these products were largely nano TiO₂ manufacturers from Japan and Europe. Due to high purchase costs and unstable supply, they funded us to source or develop an alternative, under the guidance of a major TiO₂ manufacturer in China and a university in Nanjing. After 1.5 years of development and testing, our customer approved and continued purchasing our nano TiO₂ products.

Our Kmeris® Ultra-Fine Rutile Micro Titanium Dioxide undergoes surface treatment with either hydrated aluminum oxide or a combination of hydrated aluminum oxide and hydrated zirconium oxide. With an average particle size of approximately 45 nm, this product delivers excellent weather resistance, moderate hiding power, a distinct blue undertone, and notable flip-flop effects. It is ideally suited for high-end outdoor coating applications, including automotive metallic paints, exterior wall coatings, wood lacquers, and aircraft skin coatings.Famous for its good dispersibility, small particle size, and narrow particle size distribution, Kmeris® Micro Titanium Dioxide is an ideal pigment for metallic-effect automotive coatings, providing a golden flip and a light blue flop effect. It is also suitable for wood lacquers to enhance UV protection. This product is a comparable alternative to other micro titanium dioxide pigments such as RM200, MT500HD, and Titan L530.
