W805 Active Thickening and Anti-settling Rheological Agent

1. Product description

W805 water-based bentonite thickening rheological agent is a kind of flaky silicate mineral with unique properties, which is mainly montmorillonite. It is introduced into the layered structure of natural silicate inorganic polymer through the hydration method of polyhydroxy organic polymer structure.

2. Characteristics and advantages

This product is a rheological thickener with inorganic properties modified by hydroxyethyl group, which is easy to disperse in hot and cold water and can provide good rheological and thickening effects in water. The unique sheet structure can provide stable rheological curve and good suspension, and it can provide excellent storage stability and can-opening effect when applied to waterborne coatings, and provide good construction feel.

W805 can effectively improve the low shear viscosity and make the coating have high pseudoplasticity.

It can be used as a main thickener or a synergistic thickener to obtain excellent water separation resistance.

This product can be widely used in all kinds of water-based industrial paints, water-based architectural paints (latex paints, real stone paints, textured paints, etc) and pigment concentrated  pulp, which can replace the traditional hydrowyethyl cellulose. 

Compared with it, it has many formula advantages: it is resistant to mold and bacteria, not easy to degrade,and has excellent viscosity stability; It has excellent compatibility with alkali swelling thickener and polyurethane thickener, and is not easy to delaminate and separate water; No long chain structure,splash resistance, good construction feel and easy roll coating; Good compatibility with low-carbon alcohol and delayed swelling.

3. Usage method

It can be directly added in the form of dry powder, or it can be added after being prefabricated into gel. When adding directly, W805 should be added first when dispersing (when adding dry powder, the adding speed should be paid attention to, and must be evenly and slowly sprinkled into water while stirring, and it must not be quickly thrown into a lump to prevent caking), and then dispersed in water at a high speed until the liquid becomes gelatinous ( the dispersion time is about 10-15 minutes), and then other materials (auxiliaries, pigments, resins, etc.) are added in the conventional in order; W805 does not need the lowest activation temperature in the dispersion process and is not sensitive to heat.

Along as it is  fully sheared, W805 will form the best gel state and exert excellent rheological properties.When prefabricating gel, put W805 is fully dispersed in water at high speed, and the pre-gel concentration can reach 5~69%. If there is only relatively low shear equipment, it is recommended to leave the pre-gel over night to prevent incomplete activation.

Suggested dosage: according to different requirements, the dosage is 0.1-2.0%, in view of different formulation systems, different production processes and different application fields, we strongly recommend that W805 can be comprehensively evaluated to ensure that it can meet the requirements.

4. Packaging and Storage

The outer packaging is kraft paper bag, and the inner packaging is double-layer packaging with polyethylene film bag, or the valve part paper bag. The weight is usually 25±0.25kg or stored in dry condition according to user's requirements, and the quality is valid for 24 months at 0C~30℃.
